Facing Food is tableware that balances between art and design. It encourages the user to interact with the plates, bowls and cups. At the same time, the plates interact with each other.

This tableware exists out of 20 different shaped chinaware. Each with distinct looks and faces.

This tableware is completly build with the help of 3D models. Each shape differs from the next and are based on simple and fast sketches.

3D prototypes were used as cast models for the definitive chinaware. No plate had to be reconstructed or redesigned: they all came out of the mold perfectly.

On 21 January 2014, this design won the highest Belgian Design Award: a Henry van de Velde Award. 

The Belgian based company Serax will be distributing the tableware.
