Description

The result of a 3D rendering challenge, issued by the good folk of the Modo Discord.

Dabbed around with the 3D model of vehicle artist Yan, who made the 3D model in Modo, based on AI generated supercar renders.

A worn down supercar, having hit high speeds through dust/sand storms, was my render goal. The renders are made in Octane, all through Modo. No other software has been used, even in post.

Hand painted streaks going from seams and parts where sand might hit or get stuck, show the bare carbon fibre underneath.

Carbon fibre is also visible underneath the metallic yellow paint layer, which is kept thin, to save weight. Smears and stains on the lights and windows, finish the look.

The car is completely rigged, can open doors, has a moveable wing and outlets out the back, can rotate the wheels (and steering wheel) and has adjusted light switches, including break lights and amber directional lights.

I went for a studio shot at first, but the car really shines being outside, on a rough road under the setting sun.

Due to falling sick the last few days of the contest, I could not finish it in time.
