Description

This fully printed 3D shoe was designed by Katrien Herdewyn. She wanted to create a new type of shoe, both sturdy and gravity defying.

The basic shape was based on sketches, while existing shoes (and feet) were measured to make sure the printed product would fit. Printed resin is quite sturdy and firm, so it doesn't stretch much, so it needed to fit just right, with little to no margin of error.

Katrien Herdewyn let us know that the printed shoes felt amazing and were actually quite comfortable to walk with.

An interview with the designer can be found on iMaterialise.
